Good installation practise will avoid damage and maintain the quality of our products.
Windows should be fitted square, true and plumb.
Protect all surfaces from mortar and sealing products.
Re-finish any part of the window that is cut or drilled.
Cutting or damaging a window will invalidate our guarantee.
Avoid a tight fit from adjacent materials if there is a danger of distortion in the frame.
Please ensure that if wet trades are working in enclosed areas where windows have already been installed a de-humidifier must be in operation and ideally be left on over night.
Side tolerances should not exceed 10mm on each side.
When fitting the windows, support the frame to prevent distortion.
Ensure to remove the weatherseal prior to finishing.
Seal the gap between the window and wall to prevent air filtration. A polythene backed sealing strip can be fitted prior to building-in or alternatively an expanding foam seal can be fitted after building-in is completed. This will expand and fill the gap.
Silicone or polysulphide based sealant can provide an additional seal. A timber cover strip can be fitted over the foam seal.
If windows are fitted prior to any internal plastering, a dehumidifier must be used until the moisture is removed.
